This was another good Mac Travis book. It's a quick read with short chapters and a lot of action. (Yes, it's definitely a guy book.)I have read several of the books in the series and find that it is better to follow them in sequence as there is a definite overlap of the previous one.
I found myself getting deeper and deeper into the story line as I went through this volume. This is not unique in this series. The characters are well defined and after running away from the winter last year and driving down the keys, I find I can relate to the locations described.(It also helps out that the descriptions are well written.)
I'm no pro where I describe the story line. That's better done in the Kindle description. I just know that this is one series that I keep coming back to. But seriously - if you are new to the series start at the beginning with the first book. It makes it sooooo much better.
I would like to thank the author for a decent editing job. I am dyslexic and I can't believe the lack of decent editing that shows up in books I buy. That drive me nuts and slows down even more than I naturally am. You would NEVER get away with that in a hard cover or paperback print book., So why do they get away with it in the electronic environment. Pardon me - just venting. But I know I'm not alone. Thanks again Mr Becker.

Though a. Little long it was an interesting read. Particularly if one is interested in the water, boating or diving.
If you like authors like Clive Cussler you will like the Mac Travis series by Steven Becker! The price is much lower and therefore these have become my "go-to" books of choice! High recommendation!
Action/adventure in the Florida Keys. I am not an avid reader. I love the Keys and wish we lived there. At least I am there while reading. Thanks to Steven Becker. Read this book in a weekend. Nonstop action with entertaining characters.
Loved it. Cannot wait to read the next one.
I'm one of Wayne Stinnett's beta readers and Wayne put me onto this series of books that I quickly discovered I couldn't stop reading until I read the entire series. Steven Baker has written a suspenseful book that you just have to enjoy.
This was a good well written and detailed book. I have read all of Becker's other books and enjoyed this one more than the rest. I did feel he tied the ending up a bit quickly, but still a great read.
I am also a big fan of Wayne Stinnett and like how some of his characters come up in the story.
I have read at least 8 of Mr. Becker books, and enjoyed them all - - especially the Mac Travis series. And I think I enjoyed "Wood's Harbor" the best. It seemed to have a wider feel and broader reach , while keeping the story on focus. And incorporating Cuba into the story kept it fresh and current due to very recent development between the U.S. and Cuba.
Mac Travis returns in a wild roller coaster of a ride. This is the conclusion of Wood's Wreck and it is a doozy. All the Wood's series are action packed but this one ramps it up to warp 9. It's got all the usual suspects, new accomplices, local color, current events. What more can you ask for? Okay, throw in Jesse, Rusty and having lunch at the Anchor as a bonus. (If you don't know them, check out Wayne Stinnett's excellent Jesse McDermitt novels) Each Mac Travis story gets better and I can't wait to see what's in store next. Hopefully more interaction between Mac and Jesse? In the meantime, sit down, grab your hat and enjoy the ride in Wood's harbor, you won't be disappointed.
